Our story

Capitun was started by a husband and wife team based in Morecambe, Lancashire. It began at home — literally. We spent a long time choosing vases and décor pieces for our own house, comparing options, returning things that didn't feel right, and slowly learning what actually makes a room feel warm and put-together.

That process became a shared passion. We found ourselves paying attention to small details: the weight of a vase, the way a glaze catches light, whether a piece looks right on a mantel or lost on a shelf. Over time, friends began asking where we'd found things, and we realised the same careful approach might help other UK families avoid the trial and error we'd gone through.

So Capitun became a small business: a way to share the pieces we'd personally chosen with people who want their homes to feel the same way ours does — comfortable, considered, and quietly nice to be in.

Who we are

Capitun is a small, independent, family-run business. It's just the two of us — a husband and wife team — based in Morecambe, Lancashire. We operate as a sole trader, not a registered limited company, and we are not VAT-registered.

We don't manufacture anything ourselves. We don't have a warehouse team, a marketing department, or a call centre. Every order, question, and return is handled directly by us, by email or phone.

Capitun is online-only. We don't have a shop, showroom, or premises open to the public. Our trading address in Morecambe is a private storage and correspondence base where stock is kept and returns are received — it isn't a place customers can visit.

How we choose what we sell

Every product on the site is something we've personally selected. We work with trusted suppliers and distributors we've come to know, and we only list pieces we'd be happy to have in our own home.

Before anything goes live, we check it for quality and style. That means looking at the finish, the weight, how it's packaged, and whether it genuinely adds something to a room. We're not interested in listing hundreds of items — we'd rather offer a smaller collection of things that feel right.

Why home décor

We've always believed that small, well-chosen pieces make the biggest difference to how a home feels. A vase on a windowsill, a candle holder on a table, a mirror in a hallway — these things don't have to be expensive to make a room feel complete.

We focus on vases and home décor because that's where our own experience lies. We know how frustrating it is to order something online that looks different in person, or to spend money on a piece that doesn't quite fit. We want UK homes to have access to carefully chosen décor without the overspending or the guessing.
